Pecan Sticky Buns Recipe

Warm up your oven for a tried-and-true recipe for Pecan Sticky Buns. The recipe calls for fluffy cinnamon rolls with a sweet, sticky pecan filling.  


FOR THE STICKY BUN DOUGH: – 1 cup whole milk – 1/2 cup unsalted butter – 1/2 cup plus 1 Tablespoon sugar, divided – 2 1/2 teaspoons (one 3/4-oz.) packet active dry yeast – 4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling out dough – 2 large eggs, at room temperature – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – 1 teaspoon kosher salt FOR THE FILLING: – 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted – 1 cup packed light brown sugar – 1/4 cup sugar – 1 1/2 Tablespoons ground cinnamon FOR THE TOPPING:  – 2 cups pecan – 1/2 cup unsalted butter – 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar – 1/4 cup whole milk – 1/4 cup maple syrup – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

MAKE THE STICKY BUN DOUGH:- Heat the milk and butter on the hob or in the microwave until warm but not hot (below 110°F). Stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar and yeast to the milk, then let it sit for 5 minutes.

Using a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment, mix flour, cinnamon, salt, and remaining ½ cup sugar. Mix the yeast mixture and eggs for 8 minutes to get smooth dough.  

Step 2

The dough will be tacky. Cover the dough with plastic wrap in a clean, oiled basin. Proof the bowl for 1 hour in a warm, dark location until it doubles in size.  

Step 3

Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter. Lightly flour your work surface, scrape the dough, and roll it into a 12x20-inch, 1/4-inch-thick rectangle using a rolling pin.   

Step 4

MAKE THE FILLING:- Liberally apply melted butter to dough.  Apply melted butter liberally to dough.  Mix brown sugar, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over melted butter.  

Step 5

Roll the dough into a tight log at the long edge of the rectangle, then slice it into 12 2-inch rounds and set aside with a sharp knife.  

Step 6

MAKE THE TOPPING:- Butter a baking sheet and spread pecans. Mix butter, brown sugar, milk, maple syrup, and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat. Boil 1 minute after butter melts.  

Step 7

Heat mixture and pour on pecans. Wrap pan in plastic, place sliced rolls on filling, and let settle 30 minutes to double. Preheat oven to 350°F. 20–25-minute golden sticky buns.

Step 8

After baking, let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Remove the sticky buns from the oven pan to a tray. Buns with skillet pecans. Serve sticky buns after 10 minutes of relaxation.
