The Best Air Fryer Tofu Recipe

The outside of this tofu is lightly crispy and seasoned to taste like chicken. The inside is fluffy.

– 1 (350g/ 12.3oz) block extra-firm tofu, cut into 1-inch cube – 3 tablespoons cornstarch – 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast – 2 tablespoons soy sauce, (gluten-free if preferred) – 1 tablespoon olive oil – ½ teaspoon garlic powder – ¼ teaspoon cayenne, (optional for spice)

Start your air-fryer at 350F (180C). Tofu should be cubed and ready. After sitting, the sauce can thicken and make tofu coating difficult.

Step 1

After preparing the tofu, mix the cornstarch, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, and cayenne in a large bowl to make a thick paste. Gently toss to coat tofu cubes.

Step 2

For best airflow, spray the heated fryer basket with spray oil and place the tofu in a single layer with space between each cube.

Step 3

Shake the tofu once or twice during air-frying for 20 minutes until golden.

Serve hot, refrigerate in an airtight container, or freeze. Options abound for mains, nuggets, salads, sandwiches, tacos, pasta, and nachos!
