Lemon Pound Cake Recipe 

If you love lemon, this lemon pound cake is the best dessert ever.

– 1 cup room temperature salted butter  – 1.5 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 tsp baking powder – 1/4 tsp baking soda – 1/4 tsp salt – 1 cup granulated sugar – 4 large eggs, beaten – 1/4 cup buttermilk  – 3 lemons, juiced and zested, divided  – 1 cup powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350°F with a center rack. Butter an 8.5x4.5-inch (1.5 qt) loaf pan. Parchment pan. Grease and flour parchment, shaking off excess.

Step 1

Mix flour, baking powder, soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy.

Step 2

Add beaten eggs, buttermilk, 1/4 cup lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon zest. Mix until combined.

Step 3

Mix and scrape the sides after adding each third of flour to the butter and egg mixture.

Step 4

Pour batter into pan. Bake the cake for 50–60 minutes at 350°F until it springs back when pressed and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 5

After 10 minutes, remove the pound cake from the pan and place it on a cooling rack.

Step 6

The glaze is made by mixing powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 1/2 teaspoons zest. Glaze and serve pound cake after cooling!
