Do Seeds Need Light To Germinate Or Not?

Most plant beginners say seeds require light to germinate. Without sunshine, indoor seeding requires grow lights. Did you know some seeds and plants grow without light?

The three fundamental requirements for growth are earth, water, and sunshine. Each of these three helps with photosynthesis.

Seeds need degrees of these elements, however sunlight or light is not always needed. Sun can impede dark-germinating seeds.

Light isn't needed for certain seeds to sprout. Most seeds germinate best with controlled UV generation, although some do without light.

There are other plants that are able to flourish in areas of a garden that are excessively shadowed

or even completely dark. These plants are able to grow in these conditions.
