Banana Crumble Cake Recipe

The banana crumb cake is moist and sweet, and the brown sugar and cinnamon crumbs on top are crunchy and made of butter.

INGREDIENT

For the cake: – 2 cups flour – 3 teaspoons baking powder – 1 teaspoon salt – 4 very ripe banana – 1/2 cup butter, room temperature – 2 cups granulated sugar – 2 egg – 1 teaspoon vanilla – 1 cup milk For the crumbs: – 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter, cubed – 1 cup light brown sugar – 1 cup flour – 1 teaspoon cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg For the cream cheese drizzle: – 3 oz cream cheese – ½ cup powdered sugar – 2 tablespoons milk – Splash vanilla

INSTRUCTION

Preheat oven to 350. 9.13x13 pan butter. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl. Another big bowl of banana mash. Add butter. Butter may appear divided. Just right! Mix sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

Step 1

Switch flour and milk, starting and ending with milk. Set aside. Add the crumb ingredients to another bowl and chop the butter with a pastry cutter or forks until pea-sized.

Step 2

Half the cake batter and crumbs go in the pan. Top with remaining batter and crumbs. Place in preheated oven for 45–55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.

Step 3

Let baking cool 10 minutes. Fill measuring cup with glaze and pour over cake. Heat or room temperature. Cake lasts 3 days unopened, however crumbs lose crunch after 1 day.
